Geology
When viewing from a petrography view, Thassos belongs to the crystal-based part of Rodopi. At the mountain areas, we can find mutated, crystal, and marble-like lime stones. At the lower parts, and mostly at the sea, there is sand and coble-style stones. Ground in Thassos is indigenous. Their depth is not same all over and it depends from the area that we are. Most depths are shallow and are made by sand-clay stones.
